Technical Writer needed at a Security Solutions company

The writer will report to the Senior Marketing Manager, and will write, edit and revise:

  • product installation manuals
  • online help
  • end user guides
  • technical brochures
  • applications notes
  • presentations
  • other documentation

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in communication or journalism or equivalent
  • Possess a Technical Writing Certificate (asset)
  • Possess 3 to 5 years of work experience
  • Have excellent English writing and communicating skills
  • Possess the ability to create technical illustrations
  • Be technically savvy and be able to learn complex subjects quickly
  • Be independent, a self-starter, efficient and a team player
  • Familiar with: FrameMaker, RoboHelp, Acrobat, Illustrator and CorelDraw
  • Familiar with electronics and the related terminology
  • Experience in the security or access control industry would be an asset

Essential Duties

  • To liaise with various departments to ensure consistent voice and content across all channels
  • To actively engage with subject matter experts and other technical resources across multiple teams
  • To adhere to company style guide and writing standards
  • To work independently
  • To manage multiple projects at once
  • To adapt quickly to changing requirements/schedule.
