Technical Writing Contractor Rates Jump - Modest Rise in Salaries

While the median hourly rate for technical writing contractors jumped by $4.29 ( Detailed Rate Report...), there was only a modest rise in salaries for in-house technical writers during the last quarter (Detailed Salary Report...).

Subcontractors did not so well with their rates dropping significantly.
